In my mind I visualize a Hollywood story conference where everybody is laughing. Here's the story being told: Michael Caine is a rich author who has been taken to the cleaners in two divorces and a palimony suit. He hates women so much he wants to move to a country where they are flogged. Then he finds true love. At a charity benefit, robbers break in, force everyone to strip and abscond with the jewelry after tying Caine and Sally Field together, naked. In such close quarters, Caine finds his interest in Field rising, and after they are freed, he pursues her and they fall in love.
I started listening to Trevor Hall back in when my yoga studio played him in a heavy rotation. His music soon made its way onto my own playlists when I started teaching yoga myself. After speaking with him this week on the podcast I learned that his career in the music industry had a tumultuous start which including getting dropped from his label, living in a monastery, and eventually making a hit album. Beyond his music he's one of the most wise, peaceful, and dynamic people I've met. We talked about music as a tool, meditation, surrender, learning vs. I loved meeting Trevor as much as I loved listening to Lime Tree in yoga class in which was a lot.
Surrender is a American comedy film that was written and directed by Jerry Belson. Sean Stein is a successful novelist , but after two divorces and a palimony suit, he now believes women only have loved him for his money. At a charity ball where armed thieves order guests to strip, he is bound nude to Daisy Morgan, a commercial artist.
Based on a story by Malvin Wald , the film depicts the police investigation that follows the murder of a young model, incorporating heavy elements of police procedure. A veteran cop is placed in charge of the case and he sets about, with the help of other beat cops and detectives, to find the girl's killer. The movie, shot partially in documentary style, was filmed on location on the streets of New York City and features landmarks such as the Williamsburg Bridge , the Whitehall Building , and an apartment building on West 83rd Street in Manhattan as the scene of the murder.
